Prince used one of the Hohner Mad Cats (or replicas) when he played the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the 2004 Rock Hall of Fame Ceremony. I think the Ibanez are well built guitars for the monies asked of them, but of course the necks on these are on the thinner side for my liking. Those guitars were inevitably dubbed ‘Ejacucasters’.
Headstock korean guitar hohner strat copy series#
Ive only experienced the Ibanez AS series and the Epiphone Dot (which I currently have), but would like to find a beefier neck profile. Pickguard: Obviously this is gonna require a new pickguard. Im interested in hearing what your favorite Gibson ES-335 copies are. Ive also played a Hohner L90 which is a Les Paul Gold Top copy with p90s. Mine is the L59 model (which I assume is supposed to be based on a 59 Les Paul).
Headstock korean guitar hohner strat copy serial#
Mine has no serial no on the headstock but has a serial no on the control cavity plastic cover. I'm not sure i'll be able to find anything that drops in.might have to plug and redrill. Great guitars especially since they are cheap. Any suggestions? This one is a two-post style bridge but the post-spacing is 2 7/16". I dont want to MAJOR surgery so i'm looking to replace it with another strat-type bridge. Anyone have JM pickup suggestions, econo or otherwise that they like or stand by?īridge: The bridge isnt the greatest and the tremolo block looks like its about to crumble like a hard cheese, so i'm looking for a replacement.
Instead of the typical Telecaster bridge, this guitar had a bridge similar to that found on a hard-tail Stratocaster. The other feature distinguishing this instrument from a genuine Fender was its bridge. I'll be replacing them with jazzmaster pickups, volume and tone control, and lower bout switch.basically just the lead circuit from a jazzmaster. The headstock was very similar to that of a Fender Telecaster, except for the brand, which said Hohner. I, frankly, think it sucks and the owner wants something more jazzmaster-y anyway so the ATN is getting chucked along with the pickups. Pickups/Electronics: These things have this weird Hohner Advance Tonal Network (ATN) module in the electronics with the idea being that it can sound like many different guitars all in one. I've strung it and adjusted it and it actually plays well, but there are a couple of changes i'm going to make and hoping to get board feedback on them. Marketed as ideal beginner-instruments, Hondo II was the US brand name for certain guitars built by the Korean Samick corporation. The body is stock, and the neck is a Squier Strat neck. I have just taken hold of this JT60 for modification for a friend. Not the ones with only Hohner as a pearl inlay in the headstock (those were, I think, from the 70s, and built in Japan, right) also not the ones that were branded as Arbor (also Japanese, I think).
